Crafted with the combination of natural minerals and high performance resins, StoneCast products are able to take on intricate and accurate forms. Whether their design is classic or contemporary, StoneCast baths, basins, and slab tops are fit to stand the test of time.
Like anything that we cherish in our homes, StoneCast baths and basins require ongoing care to ensure they remain as beautiful as the day they are installed.
StoneCast products finished in Matte White are made with Dolomite stone, and are naturally more porous than their Gloss White counterparts. As such, they require the following considerations when being cleaned.
Tools
Use only non-abrasive cleaning tools such as a soft dish sponge, body sponge, soft cotton cloth, or soft bristle brush.
Cleaning Products
Avoid the use of harsh or abrasive cleaning chemicals such as bleach or carbonate-based powder cleaners, instead use standard liquid or cream cleaners. Limescale and rust removing liquid cleaners may also be used.
Cleaning Methods
To remove limescale, as well as everyday soap residue or dirt, simply apply a standard liquid cleaner to the affected area of your bath or basin and wipe with a non-abrasive cleaning tool. After rinsing thoroughly with water, dry the area off with a soft cotton cloth to avoid water spots. To deter the build up of limescale, wipe down surfaces after each use to stop hard water from pooling.
To combat more stubborn stains, the quick removal of anything likely to leave a stain is the best remedy. Most stains, however, should come off easily with a standard liquid or cream cleaner worked with the coarse (though non-scouring) side of a body sponge, or a soft-bristle brush.
Should you encounter a hair dye stain on your basin or bath, the cleaning method is a little more tricky. You will need a small sheet of 2000 grit polishing sandpaper, a sanding block, paper towels, and water. First, wipe the stain with a wet paper towel, then, wet your sandpaper and wrap it around the block. Work the stain out gently with the sandpaper, rewetting it when needed. Once the stain is removed, dry the area with a paper towel.
